Meet Morgan
Morgan Corl is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and run coach. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) then completed her Doctorate at Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. She is also a board-certified orthopedic specialist (she helps rehab injuries dealing with bones, tendons, and muscles).
Running has always been a huge part of her life. She ran her first 5k in 2nd grade and continues to run through all seasons of life. Some of Morgan’s favorite and most challenging running accomplishments (so far) was her first 50k in 2020 which involved running the “Triple Crown” on the Appalachian Trail. This route is about 9,000 ft of elevation gain over 35 miles and includes well-known views of McAfee’s Knob, Tinker Cliffs, and Dragon’s Tooth. She has also completed the Dopey Challenge at Disney. This involves 48.6 miles within 4 days of running back to back (5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon). Her long-term goal is to run a race in every state. She has completed 22 of the 50 states so far!
Morgan is dedicated to helping runners of all levels and often works with beginner runners and those rehabbing from injuries. Morgan has developed expertise in treating running related injuries and enjoys working with endurance runners. Like most runners, she has encountered injuries and knows what it is like to not be able to run. She also knows what it is like to return to running after time off and experience healthy training blocks. This can impact mental and physical health as well as your social life. Her goal is to help others return to running as safely as possible after an injury, stay healthy during training plans, and continue running for the rest of their lives!
Morgan is also a wife, mom, and outdoor enthusiast. She loves to travel with her husband, and their hobbies include camping, hiking, kayaking, seeing live music, and exploring new places. They bought a sprinter van in the summer of 2022. They are building out this van so they can explore even more while spending time together in the great outdoors. Being able to park at trailheads is a bonus!
